Snapplify supporting Western Cape Education Department schools with e-learning tools

Reliable digital education tools and resources for schools – at no costIn support of the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) e-learning initiative and Reading Strategy, pan-African edtech company, Snapplify provides a free version of their e-learning platform to schools. Snapplify and the WCED are aligned in their goals to promote reading and improve literacy, each having displayed an ongoing commitment to supporting schools with reliable, realistic solutions for digitally transforming classrooms.

Any school can sign up for Snapplify Engage, which comes with 24/7 access to an e-library and gives teachers the ability to share teacher-created, multimedia resources with students.

Snapplify’s partnerships with trusted, well-known publishers and literacy projects (such as The Answer Series and Book Dash) mean schools get immediate, free access to open-source textbooks and teacher guides, past exam papers for revision purposes, children’s books in all official South African languages, as well as classic literature – from Shakespeare’s plays to classic novels and poetry anthologies. In addition, students can access free samples of Zoom In by Oxford University Press – an innovative, interactive digital study series specifically designed to help senior high school students tackle tough exam concepts and deepen their understanding by increasing engagement with the subject matter. Schools also have the option to purchase the full Zoom In series, and/or to supplement the library with additional ebooks and e-textbooks from other leading local and international publishers.

All ebooks and resources are accessed through the free Snapplify Reader app, which has broad device integration, allows for offline use, and facilitates inclusivity in schools by providing accessibility features (including text-to-speech, large-print and dyslexia fonts).‘One of the core focuses for Snapplify has always been how to empower educators and students with excellent e-learning tools and quality content. We develop our product and grow our catalogue with this in mind, always working hand-in-hand with schools and content providers, and in support of regional goals. As more schools register to use the Snapplify platform, we look forward to working further with educators to make digital education seamless and fun,’ said Snapplify CEO, Wesley Lynch.
