Cape Town, South Africa – February 13, 2026 – In a groundbreaking collaboration set to transform education and inspire the next generation, Star Factory has joined forces with the Snapplify Foundation, a global not-for-profit organisation headquartered in South Africa. This partnership brings together the music industry’s biggest names, A-list artists, record labels, and creatives from all genres to deliver life-changing life skills education directly into South African classrooms via the innovative Snapplify platform.
At the heart of this initiative is Star Factory’s bold mission: to positively impact the lives of 1 million children by harnessing the power of music as a lens for hope, resilience, and personal growth. Through engaging video classes integrated into the Life Orientation curriculum, students across cultures, languages, and backgrounds will explore critical topics like social media bullying, self-identity in society, mental health, and community belonging. These sessions, featuring top South African artists sharing their stories and insights, aim to spark meaningful classroom discussions and reduce issues like school dropouts, self-harm, and the negative effects of social media.
“The music industry is uniting like never before to give back to the communities that inspire us,” said James Boland, co-founder and CEO. “By partnering with the Snapplify Foundation, we’re not just teaching lessons, we’re igniting dreams and building a brighter future for South Africa’s youth.”
Fully aligned with the CAPS (Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement) and ATP (Annual Teaching Plan), Star Factory’s courses seamlessly fit into existing school schedules. No new curriculum is needed; teachers can incorporate the videos and exercises immediately, or blend them with their own materials. Learners gain exclusive access to the platform, unlocking additional lessons, interactive exercises, and cool behind-the-scenes content from their favourite artists, available only through this partnership.
This sustainable impact venture ensures equity for all: Children from paying households contribute the cost of a standard textbook, while those who cannot afford it receive the full program free of charge. No child is left behind, from the poorest rural areas to the wealthiest urban schools.
Adding to the excitement, Star Factory founder and board member Ilze Dewing is joining the Snapplify Foundation board, strengthening the alliance and amplifying efforts to drive systemic change in South African education.
South African record labels are already stepping up, not only through artist involvement but also with financial contributions. Star Factory and the Snapplify Foundation now invite schools nationwide to join the rollout. Several pioneering institutions have already implemented the program. Interested schools can contact info@starfactory.academy to get started.
Corporates are also called to action: Leverage your CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) or CSI (Corporate Social Investment) funds to support this transformative project. Together with the music industry and South Africa’s star power, we can help children reach for the stars, guided by the stars themselves.
